Week 28
Monday A meet up with friends at the local soft play and cafe Full of Beans. Kids eat free during July so making the most of it! I had the jacket potato which was quite nice.
Tuesday A quiet day and then headed to the Squirrels session. The original plan had been to have a campfire but due tot he rain changed it to a frog themed session. The Squirrels Leader brought in some tadpoles and frogs with her.
Wednesday Bee had another awards ceremony, this time she received an award for ‘curiosity’. Then afterwards we rushed to a taster session for our next section of our Scouts group – Scouts for 10-14 year olds. We had a good turnout and the evening was a success…more sessions in September.
Thursday A meet up with a friend in the park in the morning…who I haven’t seen for a while. Was nice to have a catch up.
Friday A quiet day today. Just chilled at home. Had our first scouts trustee board meeting with the new trustees. Although just under half didn’t turn up! No pictures.
Saturday Decided to head out to a pick your own farm. Haven’t been for a few years and wanted to go before the strawberries ended. It was a bit muddy due to some overnight night but we picked some straberries, raspberries, blackerries and blackcurrants. Got home and the girls decided they didn’t like the blackcurrants at all, but thankfully they hadn’t picked too many of them!
Sunday A quiet sunday, just doing the laundry and general cleaning up….and watching TV. Minu did some painting and I sorted out certificates and badges to give to the Squirrels on Tuesday. No pictures.
That jacket potato looks so good. It makes sense to take advantage of kids eating free.
The scouts group sounds great and what fun to go picking fruit. We have been planning to go to pick strawberries but the days we’re free they are closed because of the weather. Ugh. x

Ah I was only thinking of a pick your own the other day, and whether we’d get to one. Probably not now. Sounds like it’s been a nice, quite calm week

Shame about the rain causing the campfire session at Squirrels to be cancelled but the frog session looked interesting. Well done to Bee on her curiosity award. Lovely to catch up with your friend and to do some fruit picking. #project365

I haven’t visited a pick your own fruit farm for years, by the time I see everyone doing it, the time has passed to visit myself.
Thats what kept happening to us…but was determined to go this year!
