At a recent blogger event at our local The Body Shop, I learnt more about the products available. This in itself was a bit of an eye opener as I have mainly only ever used their body butters.
The Body Shop has a number of new products that have been introduced and one of the staff members in the store, Vicky, who is a skincare specialist, talked through some of these new products and also some of their more popular products.
Drops of Light Range
ADD BRIGHTNESS TO YOUR MORNING WITH OUR COMPLETE DROPS OF LIGHT™ SKIN-BRIGHTENING REGIME, ENRICHED WITH RED ALGAE AND VITAMIN C TO HELP SKIN APPEAR BRIGHTER AND MORE LUMINOUS. EACH PRODUCT IN THIS RANGE GIVES YOU ANOTHER DOSE OF RADIANT, SMOOTH SKIN DAY AFTER DAY. CLEANSE AND CLARIFY YOUR COMPLEXION EVERY MORNING AND NIGHT WITH THE RICH CREAMY BRIGHTENING FOAM WASH OR REPLENISH MOISTURE AND ILLUMINATE SKIN WITH THE LIGHTWEIGHT, FAST-ABSORBING BRIGHTENING SERUM.
This range includes:
- Brightening Serum
- Brightening Day Cream
- Brightening Cleansing Foam
- Brightening Essence Lotion
We were able to sample some of the products and I was impressed by them. The cream felt light on the skin and the the scent was not overwhelming. This is a product I am likely to purchase soon to try out properly on my skin as my current skin care routine is pretty much non existent!
Spa of the World
By far my most favourite range and I even got tempted to purchase some products after the event.
The Spa of the World Range was launched August 2015 and was inspired by traditional beauty regimes from all over the world; it is all about ‘creating a better world’.
There are three relaxing spa rituals:
- Relaxing
- Revitalising
- Blissful
From Ximenia Oil from Namibia, Camellia Oil from Japan, Kukui Oil from Hawaii and Sea Salt from the Dead Sea, you have everything you need to feel relaxed and pampered.
Can’t get to a spa? Then treat yourself to products from this range!

Make Up
When I think of make up, The Body Shop isn’t something that springs to mind! But then to be fair my knowledge of make up is pretty limited anyway. However I was still really surprised to learn that they had quite a range of make up, with new additions of Instaglow CC Cream and Shade Adjusting Drops. And you can even purchase brushes.
The shade adjusting drops do basically what they are called! If your foundation is too light or dark these are perfect to apply to either lighten or darken it. They are also perfect for contouring. And the CC cream is described as:
Our Instaglow CC Cream is a healthy glow reviver. Primes, Smooths, Color Corrects, Illuminates and Moisturizes for 24 hours to enhance a healthy glow.
Having only recently learnt about BB creams I was intrigued by the CC creams. CC creams tend to have more focus on skincare so I may just have to try them!
British Rose
In all honesty it was the pink flowery display that caught my eye. The British Rose range was launched for mothers day and has proven to be popular. Organic roses are handpicked, air dried and infused to give an essence to use in the products. From a body butter, to a shower gel, the range of products is wide.
Helping Reggie Find Love
What I was particularly pleased to hear at the event was that The Body Shop are working to build bio bridges. Bio Bridges are basically restored wildlife corridors within damaged landscapes.
Over the coming months, The Body Shop will make a contribution of 1p per purchase to hopefully meet their aim of restoring 14.5 million square metres of rainforest in Khe Nuoc Trong, Vietnam.

I used to use a lot of Body Shop products, but not so many these days. Would be nice to pop into a shop and pick out some treats.

Oh wow. This looks so interesting. I haven’t really ever shopped in Body Shop
I was a big fan of body shop when I was younger, it’s been a while since I visited. I do like the idea of some of these products, a spa experience at home would be very nice. I’ve not heard of CC creams either.

I haven’t used the body shop products in years. Looks like a great event. I’ll have to pop in when I’m next shopping. I could certainly do with the brightening range lol
I don’t like that there is SLS and SLA’s in a lot of their products, I tend to opt for more organic and paraben free stuff these days.
My daughter loves shops like this at the moment so we may have to visit together.

My teen loves the body shop and i have to admit that it always smells amazing when she drags me in š
I love body shop but never get chance to make the trip into the store for a treat. I might make some time for something to add to my 31 days of self care. Great post x
I need some more make-up brushes, forgot the body shop sold them
It’s true, Body Shop do a lot more than we think! I am still a huge fan of their body butters though:-)

It has been years since I have ever used a Body Shop Product, so long that I cannot even tell you what it was.
