One of my faults is my short fuse. I do get angry relatively quickly and once angry I don’t let go very quickly nor do I forgive easily. This is something I have been working on as the above hadith clearly shows it is better to control yourself when angry.
If you feel yourself getting angry then you can do the following to calm yourself down
Recite the following:
“A’udhu billahi minash shaitanir rajim.”
أعوذ بالله من الشيطان الرجيم
“I seek shelter in Allah from the rejected Satan.”
Change your body posture:
For example if you are standing then sit down, lie down if sitting down.
Make ablution:
Wash yourself to ensure you are in a state of cleanliness.
My aim for 2016 is to try to control the anger I can feel at little things, a personal battle and in sha Allah a new beginning for me.
